Your Best Life Now! by Joel Osteen
Are you living life at your desired level of success and fulfillment? If
not, why not? What are you saying with your words? What thoughts are
you thinking? What expectations do you have of yourself, and of others
around you? Are you aware of the impact these have on limiting and
preventing your development?? After you take an inventory, how do you
change what you don’t like? The style of this author is to speak directly to
you as you read these pages, to hit you where you are today, and show you
that he’s been there too. The examples of moving beyond this point are
vivid and specific. Don’t stay at today’s level- move beyond, and begin
your best life NOW!
Thinking for a Change by Dr. John C. Maxwell
Did you know there are different ways to think? It’s not just a onedimensional
process! Dr. Maxwell identifies eleven distinctive ways to
think. The bad news is: we aren’t good at all of them. The good news is: we
weren’t made to be and we don’t have to be! Identify your strengths, and
also your weaknesses. This process will allow you to more readily identify
the types of thinkers to seek out as you round out your perspective on our
business, problem solving, and action planning. A tremendous asset in any
library!
Today Matters, by Dr. John C. Maxwell
“It’s just one day…what does it really matter?” It does matter! You
traded part of your life for the activities you did and thoughts had today, and
you can’t ever get it back! Habits are developed one day at a time. If you
make a few critical decisions now, and learn to manage them, you will reap
the rewards for the rest of your life! Flush yesterday. Start fresh today, after
all… yesterday ended last night!
Spousal Support, by Donna Fason
Are you married but working this business without your partner? If
so, then this book is for you~~ both of you! Travel with Donna & Robert
back to the days before she joined him in actively working “his” business.
Believe it or not, Donna had a time when she was “the negative spouse”.
Find out how she grew from that, to being a supportive spouse, then made
the leap to being an active spouse. Donna lays it all out; vital information on
balancing business and family, too.
The Five Love Languages, by Gary Chapman
We give love as we want to receive love. Most of us realize this
already. What may be new information for us is that there are five different
categories of how we not only give but receive love. How many couple have
you known who truly did love each other, yet couldn’t seem to “get it
together” or meet each other’s deepest needs? Often times that is because
they scream “I love you!” in their own language, which is simple enough
for them to understand, yet the other person speaks a different language, and
may at the very same time be screaming “I love you!” in the way they
understand meaningful love to be given. When you take the time to read this
book, it will give insight on the different ways people give and receive the
thing we all treasure the most: unconditional love.
Not only is this good for couples, but also for understanding our
teams, and important friendships too! Chances are that your closest and
healthiest relationships are with those who understand the language you
speak. Increasing your “vocabulary” significantly increases your capacity to
love and be loved, and find significance in the relationships you value.
Courageous Leadership, by Bill Hybels
You know you’re committed to building, but you still have some
questions about yourself you need to answer? How do you develop as a
strong leader yet leave room for growth and accountability? How do you tap
into your inspiration? What’s your predominant leadership style? Real life
experience speaks over thirty years of refinement from Bill’s life and
development, from the moment he got a clear vision of his purpose in life
thru building one of the largest mega-churches in the U.S. Principles are
principles, regardless of the arena: church or business. (After all, as
Christians, we aren’t compartmentalized: our whole lives are God’s
business!)
The Strangest Secret, by Earl Nightengale
The CD that started Robert Fason on his own personal growth
journey… What is it that separates those who “make it” from those who
don’t? Is it just fate, or is it something we can influence? Good news! We
have the opportunity to chart our course and determine our destiny, in the
responses we choose to what life throws our way. Find out how, with this
life-changing audio.
The Magic of Thinking Big, by David J. Schwartz
Many key ideas and examples throughout this book for self-evaluation
give it a different twist. Do the “homework” on the area you need to focus
on. Select what fits your current situation, and tailor this book for you! We
recommend: read it all the way through, then go back to your focus area(s).
Come back to it time and again, as you and your organization grow!
Wild at Heart, by John Eldridge
A book about him, for both of you!
Do you push for the extreme edge at all costs, or fear it? Do you seek to
slay the dragon, and free the lady, or do you fear the dragon & not believe
you could win the lady? Manhood and masculinity have taken a serious hit
in American society, but there’s not doubt in most minds that men and
women are dramatically different in many ways! How do you tap into that
powerful, confident man who still resides deep inside without being either a
chauvinistic pig, or a spineless wimp? What does true masculinity mean, for
both the man and the lady who loves him? Why is it important here? You’ll
see…
If the Devil Can’t Steal Your Joy He Can’t Have Your Goods/ If the
Devil Can’t Steal Your Dreams He Can’t Control Your Destiny, by
Jerry Savelle
Here’s a question for you: if you were standing at your door and some
stranger barged in and began unloading the goods in your home onto his
dolly, would you stand there and say “wow, I used to have …” or would you
take authority and stop him before he emptied your home? What’s the key
to keeping the things that are important in your world? Why do things
accumulate for some people and flow through the fingers of others like a
sieve? Why is maintaining and focusing on the dreams planted inside of you
important? Is joy really tangible, and how does it protect what’s already
yours? These two short but powerful books piggy-back on each other well,
but can also stand alone. Short easy read books that convey Christian
principle without getting too deeply theological, and give great focus points
for the day!
Bankrupt Heart/ Abby’s Ark, by MaryA. Green
I am very impressed with Mary’s writing style, she writes in such a way that
I was drawn into the books and are right there with the characters. I laughed
with them, cried with them, and prayed with them. It was an easy reading
book, filled with personal growth for the characters and I found myself
thinking and growing personally along the way. When Scripture was
mentioned I had a wanting to go into my Bible and see what the rest of the
passage said.
Bankrupt Heart shows how a life can start out on the right path, and then a
couple of wrong choices can take it down the wrong path. In her writing
you see how the love of God and faith in Him can bring that same life back
around to the right path again.
In Abby’s Ark, Mary takes us back to the Old West days. Days of wagon
trains, of Indians, of a God-loving community and what the inhabitants of
the town experience on a daily basis. You are there, , with the townspeople,
rejoicing, feeling fear, feeling sadness at times, yet always reminded of Who
is in control: God.
